DECADENT BUCKWHEAT CHOCOLATE WALNUT BROWNIES

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 1/4 Cup 85% Dark Chocolate Chips

  • 1/3 Cup Butter

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar or Sweetener of Your Choice

  • 3/4 Cup Buckwheat Flour

  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/4 Cup Milk, Warmed

  • 3/4 Cup Walnuts, Chopped


1. Pre-heat oven to 300F.

2. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with Olive Oil, line with parchment paper and put aside.

3. Melt 85% Dark Chocolate Chips and Butter in a bowl using a microwave or a double boiler. Mix to combine well.

4. In another mixing bowl, whisk the Eggs until light and fluffy. Add the Sugar, a little at a time, and whisk well.

5. Add the melted 85% Chocolate Chips and Butter Mixture and combine well.

6. Sift together the Buckwheat Flour, Cocoa Powder, and Baking Powder. Add to the wet batter, one tablespoon at a time, and fold well.

7. Add Warm Milk and mix well.

8. Pour the Chocolate Batter into the baking pan and top with Walnuts.

9. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until firm on the outside. The inside will remain a little gooey.

10. Remove from the oven, let cool, then cut into squares. Enjoy!
