STEAK CHARGRILLED WITH RED WINE AU JUS


Prep Time 5 mins - Cooking Time 10 mins - Total Time: 15 mins - Servings 1 – Calories 315

  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 6 OZ Sirloin Steak or Steak of Your Choice

  • 1/4 Cup Red Wine

  • 3/4 Cup Beef Stock

  • 1 Tsp Tomato Purée (Optional)

  • 1 Tsp Cornstarch, dissolved in 1 Tbsp Water to form Paste

  1. Heat frying pan over a high heat

  2. Coat the Steak in ½ Teaspoon Olive Oil, add to frying pan and sear each side for 1 min each.

  3. Reduce heat to medium and heat according to how you like your Steak done.

  4. Remove the Steak from the pan and set aside to rest.

  5. Add the Wine to the hot pan, cook it to reduce the wine by half, until its syrupy and has a concentrated flavor.

  6. Add the Beef Stock and Tomato Purée and bring to a boil.

  7. Add Cornstarch Paste, a little at a time, to thicken au ju to your desired consistency.

  8. Pour Red Wine Au Ju over steak, Sprinkle with Spice Blend and serve.
